Valogix MBA Intern Rachael Howe Receives National Recognition

November 17, 2006- Saratoga Springs, NY - Valogix LLC, a leader in predictive analytics and inventory forecasting software, is pleased to announce that its Union Graduate College MBA intern Rachael Howe has received national recognition for her part in the 2006 Innovation Challenge, hosted by the University of Virginia’s Darden Graduate School of Business.

“Rachael is an integral part of a project that will lead to new technologies from Valogix to add even more value for our reselling partners,” noted Richard Vaccaro, President and CEO of Valogix. “Our SAP and IBM customers will receive incremental value from this new suite of advanced solutions.”

The business challenges, developed by sponsors Hilton Hotels, Daimlers Chrysler, Whirlpool, OPEN from American Express, GE Money and M&M’s Chocolate Candies, are real-world issues faced by global, top-tier companies. Ms. Howe’s team created a campaign for Hilton Hotels designed to attract female travelers to the hotel chain. Their concept, “Awaken Your Mind: HGlobal Learning Annex is Your Window to the World” was designed to bring the outside culture of a country’s community into the hotel by designing five different classes based on the location’s specific culture. The goal of was to help the female traveler feel safe within the comfort of the hotel by bringing the foreign culture to her, and to provide a forum for women travelers to meet other people.

Independent judges from around the world anonymously rated each team’s plan, and the top 10 finalists go to Virginia to compete for the $20,000 grand prize and the title, “The Most Innovative MBA Team in The World.” Howe’s team placed 42nd among 440 teams from the US and abroad, and ranked above teams from Yale, Duke, MIT, London Business School, USC and other elite schools from around the globe.

“The experience I gained by working with the management team at Valogix helped me facilitate a creative, competitive, and effective marketing campaign for the challenge,” noted Howe. “My experience at Valogix was an invaluable asset for the competition.” Rachael currently works as an intern with Valogix LLC in new business development and market research.
