October 28, 2008 - Saratoga Springs, NY USA - Valogix announced today that is has initiated a new program designed to provide independent expert advice to small and mid-size businesses. The VALOGIX® Expert Series, begins in November with the first program in the series featuring David Caruso, the founder and Principal of David Caruso & Associates, Inc, a consulting firm specializing in manufacturing, supply chain, and technology strategy.
A critical time for businesses that manage inventory Better management of inventory is critical to small businesses in today's turbulent economic environment. In a recent story posted by John W. Schoen, Senior producer, MSNBC, "retailers and other businesses that rely on short-term credit to finance inventories are being hit hard. As that credit dries up, businesses that cannot buy fresh inventory from cash flow or savings could run out of options quickly. And businesses that maintain high-cost inventories while operating on razor thin margins have been hit especially hard by the credit drought."
According to David Caruso, "Today's tough economy has made optimizing inventory investment a mandate for survival. It is our intent to provide pragmatic insight and help distributors address the challenge of beating the problems quickly and effectively."
"We are very pleased to have David as our inaugural featured expert", stated Richard Vaccaro, President and CEO of Valogix. "David has consistently been a strong knowledgeable source for leading-edge process improvement, operational information and strategies in supply chain management. In these troubled economic times, David's insight and advice will provide useable tips on how to improve a company's inventory position, turning it into a competitive advantage."
The VALOGIX® Expert Series will be available in a variety of formats. The first session will be available in the new and innovative video PDF format to deliver the content. Subsequent sessions will be available via webcasts, whitepapers and additional video PDF's. All sessions will contain "how to" information from the experts.
The VALOGIX® Expert Series runs through 2009. The anticipated topics are 1.) Releasing Cash Hidden in Your Inventory; 2.) Identifying and Solving Inventory Problems 3.) Developing an Inventory Planning Strategy.
